Your Commissioner Must Have Experience
in Agribusiness and Agriculture
Agriculture is the life of the land. Agribusiness is the industry around it. Both matter, but only one teaches you what it means to stake your livelihood on the soil itself. Jeremy brings hands-on experience that gives him a clear understanding of how policy decisions impact farmers, processors, truck drivers, and families across our state.
This is the kind of experience that creates real progress, not more of the same.

Cannon Ag Products & Jeremy Cannon

Jeremy Cannon grew up farming beside his father, Nebo Cannon, learning firsthand that agriculture is built on early mornings, late nights, and resilience. He has weathered floods, hurricanes, droughts, and volatile markets while navigating the same challenges every South Carolina farmer knows well. He has seen what is at stake when a crop fails, when a family loses land, and when rural communities lose opportunity. These experiences shaped his belief that South Carolina’s farmers deserve more substantial support and a future where family agriculture can thrive.
Jeremy and his wife, Lacie, recently celebrated 22 years of marriage, and together they are raising their son, Blaine, on the same land where Jeremy grew up farming. Today, Jeremy has taken the lead in running the family operation, although he is quick to say that his father, Nebo Cannon, is still the real boss.
Cannon Ag has always been part of Jeremy's life. Even while attending evening classes at the University of South Carolina, earning a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Management, he was farming during the day. Under Jeremy’s leadership, the farm has expanded its reach and now includes The Market at Cannon Ag, which Lacie manages as part of their true family farm. The Market offers Cannon Ag seasonal farm-grown products, locally sourced goods, and their newest venture, Cannon Beef. With Blaine already learning the ropes and helping wherever he can, the Cannon family reflects the daily reality of South Carolina agriculture: families working together and building something worth passing on.
This lived experience makes Jeremy more than a supporter of agriculture and positions him as the natural choice to fight for the future of every farmer in the state.

JEREMY GETS RESULTS
Jeremy delivers real solutions for South Carolina families and farmers. His work is practical, hands-on, and focused on protecting the people who keep our rural communities strong.
Standing up after the 2015 Flood
Jeremy partnered with Clemson Extension, Farm Bureau, and lawmakers to secure disaster relief. The Farm Aid Fund kept farms operating and protected the families who feed our state.
Creating a new market for local farmers
When cucumber contracts disappeared, Jeremy traveled to Canada on his own time and brought a new contract back home. That effort reopened a market, helping growers plant again and restore income.
Championing rural jobs and opportunity
